This Privacy Policy explains how the Irish Inflatable Hirers Federation (“IIHF”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you visit our website or deal with us. We are the data controller for the personal data described here, and we handle it in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Acts 1988 to 2018.

If you have any question about this policy or about how we use your data, or you want to exercise any of your rights, please contact us using the details above.
What personal data we collect, and why
- Contact and callback forms. Your name, phone number, email address and message. We use these to reply to your enquiry. Our legal basis is your consent, given when you submit the form, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
- Membership applications. Your company and contact details, address, phone, email, website and social media links, the equipment you hire out and your insurance status. We use these to assess your application and to run your membership and the IIHF insurance scheme. Our legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a membership, and then performing that membership.
- Commercial Leisure Insurance proposal form. Details about you, your business and your activities that an insurer needs to consider a proposal. We use these to arrange a quotation and cover at your request.
- Terms and Conditions acknowledgment. Your company name, your name and email address, and your confirmation that you have read and accept our terms, including (where you agree) that your information may be shared with the insurance company. We keep this as a record of your agreement.
- Industry survey. The IIHF industry survey is anonymous. It does not ask for your name, email address or other identifying details, and responses are analysed and published only in summary form.
- Correspondence. If you email or phone us, we keep a record of your message and our reply so we can deal with your query.
- Website usage data. If you accept analytics cookies, we collect information such as the pages you view, how you arrived at our site, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. We use it to understand how the site is used and to improve it.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and we do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.
Our members’ public directory
IIHF members have a public profile on this website. The business name, logo, photographs, description, areas covered, telephone number, email address, website and social media links that members supply for their profile are published so that the public can find and contact them. If you are a member and want your listing changed or removed, contact us.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where needed for the purposes above:
- Insurance providers. Where you apply for membership of the insurance scheme or request a Commercial Leisure Insurance quotation, we share the relevant details with our insurance broker (Arachas Insurance Brokers) and the insurer that underwrites the scheme, so they can provide cover.
- Service providers acting for us. Our website developer and host, Bubblehub Media Ltd, who maintain the website and operate the automation tools that process form submissions; and our email delivery provider (SMTP2GO), which sends the emails generated by our forms. These providers may only use your data on our instructions.
- Google. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics receives usage data about your visit. If you play the video embedded on our homepage, YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies.
- Public bodies. Where we are required to do so by law, or to protect our legal rights.
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, we rely on safeguards recognised under GDPR, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
Cookies and similar technologies
When you first visit, a banner asks you to choose which cookies you accept. We use two categories:
- Essential. Needed for the website to work and to remember your privacy choices. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics. Google Analytics cookies that show us which pages are popular and how visitors move around the site. These are off unless you accept them.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the cookie icon at the bottom-left of any page. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings, although parts of the site may then not work as intended.
How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, and to meet legal, insurance and accounting obligations. In general: enquiries are kept until they are resolved and for a reasonable period afterwards; membership and insurance records are kept for the duration of your membership and for the period required afterwards for legal and insurance purposes; and analytics data is kept according to the retention settings in our analytics account. After that, data is deleted or anonymised.
How we protect your data
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access restricted to authorised people, and the use of reputable service providers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Under data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- ask us to erase your data, or restrict how we use it, in certain circumstances;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- receive your data in a portable format where processing is based on consent or contract; and
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@iihf.ie. We will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission (www.dataprotection.ie), 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28.
